David Eldridge Collins, 62, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday January 16, 2024. He was born to Hassell Eldridge Collins and Janice Eaton Collins in Forsyth County NC on September 13, 1961 and died from complications of Scleroderma. He attended the local public schools and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. After the Navy, David worked in various sales and construction jobs and then retired from Kelly Office Solutions with over 10 years of service. In his spare time he enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing and hunting but what he cherished most was the time spent with family and friends while pursuing those endeavors. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by a very special brother-in-law, Donnie Cranford, who was his best buddy. He is survived by his wife and best friend Diane Collins who was there for him every step of the way. David is also survived by his sisters, Sharon Holt and Lisa Cranford and his brother Mike Collins. David never was much on formal functions and always hated attending funerals so the best way to honor him is with a memory that brings a smile or a chuckle and know that is what would make him happy.
