Michelle Colette (Blakley) Dodson

Michelle Blakley Dodson, 63, peaceably passed away Tuesday morning, February 6, 2024 at Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home. She was the daughter of late Billie Gray Blakley and Marceline Blakley was born September 24, 1960 in Kernersville, NC. At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Main Street Baptist Church. She was a single mother of two boys, until she met the love of her life William Frank Dodson and was united in Holy Matrimony on February 2, 1991.

 Michelle (Shell), was a secretary for her Aunt and Uncle, John and Shirley Baker at Baker Construction for many years before, semi-"retiring" to help care for her Grandchildren. She worked part-time at the Kernersville Neighborhood Market and by choice, spent her afternoons in school pickup lines, parks and soaking up the sunshine. In her spare time she loved to head to the coast for a little fishing and r&r at Carolina Beach. She was a wonderful wife, Mother, meemaw, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. In fact, she knew no strangers, and as a result of her kind personality and generous spirit, she was loved by many. Michelle gave so much of herself in her work and personal life and much like the butterflies she loved so dearly, her influence and love will linger on in the lives of her friends and family. 

Her life can be summed up in these few scriptures that she lived by daily: Hebrews 13:1-2 "Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now abideth Faith, Hope, Charity, these three; but the greatest of these is Charity."

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Dodson. She is survived by her two sons, Stanley Davis, Wife-Leslie Davis and Joshua Davis, wife-Jessica Davis. She was the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Karlee Davis, Carson Davis, Bryce Carrington and Gabriel Davis. She is survived by her cherished sisters, brother and in-laws, Tina Howard, husband- Terry Howard, and Robin Shipley, husband- Bert Shipley and Kerry Blakley, Wife-Therese Gillmore, Mark Dodson, Wife-Teresa Dodson, Tena Sullivan, husband- Vern Sullivan and many special nieces, nephews and friends.
