Grief, which is our heart’s response to loss, is an ever-present part of life’s journey. Whether it be the loss of a loved one, loss of purpose, or loss of anything we hold dear, grief is not something we are necessarily taught how to handle. We, at Twin City Cremations & Funeral Services, are dedicated to meeting the needs of our families and of the community. In an effort to do this, we have partnered with a Hospice to form a Grief Support Group for families and loved ones – not only those we have come to know through our Funeral Home, but those in the community.
Our Grief Support Group will start August 30, 2018 at 6:30pm. Then, beginning Sept 6, the group will meet every other Thursday through Nov. 15 at 6:30pm. The location will be at our funeral home located at 122 N. Spruce Street in downtown Winston-Salem. Anyone can start coming at any time during the series of sessions.
These are very informal sessions that will be sensitive to the needs of the group. We hope that those who are working through the grief process will join us. Our hope is that we can support you during your journey and assist you in finding peace and healing during a time of sorrow.
Grief is a normal response to loss. It is also a process in which you may experience many emotions that come and go. Grief does not follow a timetable and everyone goes through this process differently. We are here to support our families throughout the grief process.
