It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Becky Aileen Dickson on October 25th, after a valiant two-year battle against pancreatic cancer. She departed this world at the age of 61, surrounded by the warm embrace of her adoring family.
Becky graced this world with her presence when she was born to Charles and Elizabeth Allison in Detroit, Michigan, in December 1961. She was one of five siblings, and they were nurtured in their church, where Becky's passion for singing and theatrical performances blossomed. In her high school years, she found joy and purpose in her participation on both the basketball and swim teams.
Following her graduation, Becky pursued her education at Liberty University. It was during her time working in the student dining services that she found love in the form of her supervisor, Chuck Dickson. Their love story evolved into a lasting and affectionate marriage that commenced in August 1982. Together, Becky and Chuck embarked on the journey of parenthood, bringing into the world three beautiful children: Samantha, Brandon, and Rebekah. Becky's dedication and love extended to her role as a homeschooling mother, while she also found time to teach invigorating exercise classes at the local YMCA. In time, she channeled her remarkable talent and boundless passion for education into her work at Christian schools and then at public schools where she made a profound impact on children with special needs.
Beyond her educational pursuits, Becky's life was filled with a deep love for memorizing Scripture, conjuring elaborate feasts for family and friends, and indulging in the world of arts and crafts. Her faith in Jesus, her affinity for music, and her flair for decorating, including an extensive collection of pillows, were always manifest in her home and her heart.
Today, we find solace in knowing that Becky has found eternal rest in the loving arms of our Savior. She is now reunited with her "partner in crime" and mother, Betty, as well as her father, Charles, and brother, Chuck, in the boundless expanse of Heaven.
Becky's legacy lives on through the many adoring family members who survive her, including her cherished best friend and husband, Chuck; her devoted children, Samantha, Brandon, and Rebekah; her beloved granddaughter, Ellyana; her caring daughter-in-law, Kristen; her brother, Tim Allison; and her sisters, Judy Echols and Carol Demond. Becky's memory will forever be cherished in our hearts.
