Benjamin “Ben” Mack, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the age of forty-five, following a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the enduring spirit he shared with all who knew him.
Ben lived a life defined by kindness, humor, and an unwavering belief in the goodness of people. A devoted husband to Jess and a proud father to their three beautiful children, Larkin, Ollie, and Finn. Ben approached every challenge with strength, grace, and an infectious positivity that lifted those around him. A diehard fan of the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals, the NC State Wolfpack, and kids’ sports, and a lover of animals and classic rock music, Ben’s generosity, humor, joyful spirit, and radiant smile left a mark on every person he met, from close friends to complete strangers.
Ben had a larger-than-life presence and a gift for making people feel seen and appreciated. His family finds solace knowing that his light lives on in his children and in the countless lives he touched. That was how Ben lived, and how he hoped we all would carry on.
A service to celebrate Ben’s life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday May 10, 2025, at The Summit Church Oak Ridge, 1420 NC Highway 68 N, Oak Ridge, NC 27310. All who know Ben are welcome to attend and honor his extraordinary life. There will also be a chance to share stories and memories of Ben with family and friends at a lunch following the service, on the grounds of Fountain of Life Lutheran Church, 323 Hopkins Rd, Kernersville, NC 27284.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you pay it forward—do something kind in Ben’s memory. For those who want to offer additional support, Ben’s wish was that donations be made to “Live Like Madison”, a nonprofit supporting pediatric cancer research - livelikemadison.org/donate.
