Claig C "Scooter" Shelf

Claig C Shelf also known as “Scooter”, 67 of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Friday March 20th, 2026, at his home, with his wife Robin by his side. He was born June 19, 1958, in Forsyth County, to the late Ramel and Coy Shelf.

Claig had an infectious laugh, easy going spirit, and would always light up a room with his smile, wittiness, and jokes. He loved all his family and friends and held each one close to his heart. He loved the outdoors, landscaping, and wouldn’t pass up a round of golf. Claig enjoyed his sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and UNC Tarheels. He also enjoyed watching Maddy through her volleyball career, hardly ever missing a game.

Claig left behind his loving wife, Robin D Shelf, brothers Michael (Portia) Shelf, Dino Sheff, and his loving sister Nadine Shelf, also known as “Squeaky”. Also like his own children Nathan (Jill) Wooten, Ashley (Greg) Leeber and grandchildren Dalton and Maddy Leeber. Many nieces and nephews he had fond memories of.

Though Claig has gone home his spirit still lives with us.
