Colleen Margaret Salkin (Kelli), age 59, died on June 30, 2022, at the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Joan and Howard Waltz Hospice Home, in Dobson, NC. after a long period of declining health.
Kelli was born March 17, 1963 in Los Angeles, California. She also lived in Jamestown, NC; Reston, Virginia; Haymarket, Virginia; Winston-Salem, NC; and Tampa, FL.
She graduated from R. J. Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem, and attended Forsyth Technical Institute (Graphic Design).
In Winston-Salem, she worked for The Customer Center, Sara Lee Brands, The City of Winston-Salem, and Stokes Partnership for Children, among other places. In Florida, she worked for Chase and Ford. She was most proud of the web design work she did for the RT (Romantic Times) community, their publishers, authors, and cover models.
Mostly, Kelli will be missed for who she was — a good friend, and for her wonderful sense of humor, her kindness, huge heart, and her love for Jesus.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Margaret Salkin of Winston-Salem, NC. She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Jerry Davis of Concord, NC; sister Kathleen Salkin of Winston-Salem, NC; niece and great-nephew Robin and Jonah Kumako of Tampa FL; close friends C.J. Hollenbach, Linda Bradham, and Carolyn McKay; and many other good friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, Joan and Howard Waltz Hospice Home, Dobson, NC; or Calvary Baptist Church’s Benevolence Fund, Winston-Salem, NC.
A Memorial service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 134 S Peace Haven Rd, Winston-Salem, in the L H Angell room, on Saturday, July 9 at 2 pm.
