Emily Cleve (Thomas) Reaves

Emily Thomas Reaves passed away peacefully at her home in Lexington, NC on September 12, 2025, at the age of 77, after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Born on January 14, 1948, Emily was known for her warm, generous spirit and her unwavering kindness.

Emily graduated from North Davidson High School in 1966 and later worked at Baptist Retirement Home, where she was cherished for her compassion and dedication. Her life as marked by a profound commitment to nourishing relationships, as seen in her 30-year marriage to beloved husband, Randy Reaves, and her close friendships with Heidi and Kent Nifong. A true matriarch and friend, Emily was the heart of her community. She was famous for her homemade yeast rolls and loved hosting porch parties. An avid Gardner, Emily found joy and peace in the beauty of nature, which was evident in her beautifully kept garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleve and Howard Thomas. Emily is survived by her husband, Randy who was her caregiver during her battle with cancer; and her dear friends Heidi and Kent.

Emily’s life was a testament to the beauty of putting others first and the enduring power of community and friendship. In keeping with her wishes, no services are planned.
