James Edward Hensley, 51, left this world and entered eternity on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Atrium Baptist hospital while he was surrounded by his friends and family that loves him so dearly. He was born March 36, 1975 in Forsyth County, to his parent Rachel Painter.

James was very loyal to his friends and family and truly had the biggest heart. He loved and valued his family and friends deeply. He had a very out going personality. He was a big people person, always had a smile on his face. Always joking and laughing making sure others were laughing too. He loved to help others and make them happy. He loved to stay busy and just always loved having something to do. Overall, he was a very wonderful man who had a heart of gold.

James had many interests and hobbies. He enjoy playing corn hole and participating in tournaments at Tee Time and for AAR. He picked up the hobby of collecting cards such as baseball, football, and other types. He loved to go fishing, especially ocean fishing. Even though he loved going to the beach and ocean fishing, he did not like going in the sand. He was a very huge fan of the Duke College Basketball team. He loved White Wolves and White tigers. He loved every tattoo that he had gotten, overall just loved to get tattoos. He really loved to go to Church at Calvary Church in Winston- Salem, Baptist Ministries. Lastly, he loved being with his friends and family that he was very close with.

James was a very loved man who will never be forgotten. He will always be loved by everyone and missed by all.

He is survived by his son, Traexton (Trae) Hensley; his daughter, Marley Grace; considered as his daughter, Brydgett Cline;  considered as his daughter; Avery Pitman; his brother, Raymond Hensley (Alana Hensley); his Girlfriend, Laura Hardy, and many other close friends and family. He was welcomed into Heaven by his mother Rachel Painter.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church, 2009 Peachtree Street, Winston Salem, North Carolina 27107, with Pastor Kent Oviatt officiating.
