Nelda Sue (Biggs) Shugart

Nelda Sue Biggs Shugart of Winston-Salem died at home Friday, April 21, 2023 after a year of declining health. She was 74.

Born in Stuart, Va., to the late Gilmer and Ruby Biggs, Nelda graduated from Stuart High School and Winston-Salem Business College. She retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, where she was an administrative assistant. She enjoyed reading and adored cats, particularly her beloved Peekaboo.

Survivors include her son, Scott (Elisa) Shugart of Floyds Knobs, Ind.; daughter, Karen Shugart of Greensboro; and grandchildren, Michaela, Madison, Katie, Jillian, and Andrew. She is also survived by her brothers, Carlton (Dorothy) Biggs, Delana (Glenda) Biggs, Charles (Gloria) Biggs, and Ben (Rita) Biggs.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 pm till 6:00 pm Saturday April 29, 2023 at Twin City Cremations and Funeral Services, 122 North Spruce Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
