Richard Tung, age 69, passed away peacefully on March 3rd, 2026 in Kernersville, North Carolina. He was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan on March 23rd, 1956. Richard grew up in the military village of Kaohsiung and was raised by loving parents and grew up with four sisters and two brothers. Richard joined the military at the age of 20. Richard attended college at the age of 23 and graduated at the age of 27 from the Tunghai University in Taichung. Richard started his career as an accountant at age 27.

Richard married his college classmate, Li Fang Tung, at age 29 in March 1985. Richard and Li Fang had their first child, Cindy, born in Taiwan in 1989. They immigrated to the United States in1996, where they soon had their second child, Benjamin, born in Fremont, California in 1996.

Richard served as Chief Financial Officer at multiple companies in his 35-year career. Richard had an exceptional ability to help people solve the most difficult problems, and his skills became highly sought out. His boss trusted his character and integrity to be able to lead his team and make important decisions. He was generous with his time and reached out to provide help and guidance to his colleagues and team members at work. Richard has moved from California to Georgia to North Carolina for work, then back to California where he retired in 2020. Richard was a resident of Kernersville, North Carolina for more than 10 years.

Richard was baptized at the Bread of Life Christian Church in Los Angeles in 2013. Richard and his wife started attending the Greensboro Chinese Christian Church in 2015 and have been active members of the community.

Richard was a devoted and loving son, husband, and father. Richard was the breadwinner of the family and an active parent for his children. Richard took care of his mother who lived in his home. When siblings or family members needed help, he often lended a hand. Richard was a hardworking, detail-oriented, positive, loving person with a strong sense of integrity, a strong will, and great problem solving abilities. Richard had a unique ability to get things done the right way with a positive mindset and sense of humor.

Richard is survived by his wife (Li Fang Tung), daughter (Cindy Wang), and son (Benjamin Tung). Richard is the youngest of seven siblings, and is survived by four older sisters and two older brothers.
