Robert Paul Kegresse, 80, passed away Sat., July 22, 2023, at AuthoraCare Hospice Home in Burlington, North Carolina. He was born Aug. 30, 1942, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to Paul Joseph Kegresse and Roseanna "Margaret" Delage.
He was a 1960 graduate of Apponequet Regional High School in Lakeville, Mass., and attended Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. On Nov. 14, 1964, he married Nancy Louise Lane in the Reno Christian Church, Reno, Ohio, and together they traveled throughout the U.S. mainland, Hawaii, the Bahamas, Mexico City, and twice to Germany & Austria. He was a proud father of their two daughters who graduated from Millikin University, Decatur, IL and Appalachian State University, Boone, NC and was an even prouder grandfather!
He began his employment career as a collection agent for Budget Finance in Columbus, Ohio, and it was finance that led him on to positions in Dayton, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Davenport, Iowa; and Bloomington, Illinois that included 30 years in various facets of the automobile business.
He enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, and all sports, especially golf, and in 1986, he and his wife moved to the warmer climate of the Carolinas where they found a new life together and he worked at several car dealerships and RGIS Inventory. (He was also proud of two holes in one, accomplished by only 15% of the golfers in the world.)
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Pam; sister, Dawn; brother, Lee; and nephew Todd. He is survived by his wife, daughter, three grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins scattered throughout the U.S.
Per his wishes, there will be no public visitation or service. A graveside interment service will be held at a later date in the old section of Valley Cemetery in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Reno, Ohio.
