Sherry Lynn Mills Bintliff, 66, of Woodleaf, NC passed away peacefully June 22, 2025 in Winston Salem, NC. Born May 29, 1959 in Lexington, NC. Sherry lived a vibrant and generous life footed in love for her family, passion for outdoors and unwavering belief in the goodness of others. She was raised with strong values that would guide her throughout her life, kindness, resilience and a deep appreciation for connection. A trailblazer from an early age Sherry proudly served in the National Guard from 1978-1980. She made history as the first female to join the National Guard in Lexington, NC, a distinction that reflected both her courage and determination. Her honorable service remains a point of pride. Sherry’s zest for life was evident in everything she did. She loved fishing, riding motorcycles along side her husband Henry, with the wind in their faces, traveling to new places with curiosity and joy, camping under the open skies and spending time outdoors where she felt most at peace. Above all Sherry cherished time spent with family and friends. Her home was always open, her heart even more so. Those who knew Sherry will remember she never met a stranger and she had the extraordinary gift for seeing the good in everyone she encountered. Her warmth was magnetic, her laughter contagious. Whether offering a kind hand or simply sharing a kind word Sherry gave more than she ever received without hesitation. Her legacy is one of love, freely given and joy fully embraced in every season of life. Sherry lived with purpose and passion. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Bintliff; mother Eva Hepler; father Davis Mills; and son Brian Smith. She is lovingly survived and remembered by her (step)-father James Hepler; sisters Nancy Mills and Melissa Shrewsbury; daughter Kelly Barnhill; son David Smith; grandchildren Kayla Lynch, Heather Jones, Shane Lynch, Trey Lynch, Coby Lynch and “Puff” Lynch.
