Jayne Freeman Kelly-Hatfield, 91, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday March 10, 2021. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia July 16, 1929 to Homer and Nannie Pate Freeman. Jayne graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, West Virginia. Because of her love of music after graduating from high school she attended and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After graduation she made a career of being a piano teacher, and she also played the organ for several churches. Jayne was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband Frank Kelly; her second husband Nate Hatfield; a son Joe Kelly; a grandson Casy Jones; a brother Dana Freeman; and a sister Eloise Pruden. She is survived by her daughter Betty Hixson; son John Kelly (Tracy); and daughter Mary Jones; two granddaughters, Rachel Phillips, and Tamara Jones; five grandsons Mike Hixson, Matt Hixson, Joe Kelly, and Michael Kelly; two great-granddaughters, Emma Phillips, and Amelia Phillips; and great-grandson, Brett Phillips. A service will be held at a later date.
