Mark Allen Crews, 64, of Winter Park, FL, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 22, 2020 while visiting family in NC. Mark was born on March 19, 1955 to Irving and Mildred Crews in Winston Salem, NC, and graduated from RJ Reynolds High School. Mark owned his own carpet business for 20 years, and owned a mobile marine mechanic business after obtaining certification. Most recently he was a truck driver. Mark was an avid outdoorsman finding joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and raising chickens. He was also certified for several types of diving: open water, nitrox, rescue, first aid, and cavern. He served his country as a member of the Army Airborne Division. Mark was preceded in death by his father; his mother; and stepfather Bobby Carroll; two nieces Adrienne Loftin Overby, and Heather Holmes Freeman; and a nephew Zach Loftin. He is Survived by three sons Brandon Crews of Winston-Salem, NC, Anthony Crews of Winter Park, FL, and Dillon Crews of Dahlgren, VA; former wife Kathy Crews of New Smyrna Beach, FL; four brothers David Crews of Advance, NC, Danny Crews (Lillie) of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert Crews (Debbie) of Chesterton, IN, Derek Crews (Trish) of Pottsboro TX; two sisters Peggy Holmes (Stephen) of Winston-Salem, NC, and Cindy Loftin (Warren) of Winston-Salem, NC. A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday March 7, 2020 at Calvary Baptist Church, 134 South Peace Haven Road, Winston Salem, NC with Rev Gary Byrum officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. There will also be a celebration of life service 1:00 PM March 21, 2020 at Riverbreeze Park, 274 HH Burch Road, Oak Hill, FL, Pavilion 1.
