William Worthy Obituary

Mr. William “Richard” Levon Worthy, 61, of  Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Richard transitioned peacefully to his heavenly home on Saturday, August 8, 2020. He was born on December 23, 1958 to the late Helen Worthy and William Eaton. Richard was a graduate of North Forsyth High School, Class of 1977.  He was a very charismatic person who loved to make others laugh and smile.  He never met a stranger and was a helping hand to anyone in need.  As a self-proclaimed Spade Champion, he was always accepted the challenge to play the card game.  With his prominent voice and infectious laugh, the love of his family was expressed by him with almost every breathe. Richard will be remembered for this love always! After graduating from Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, Richard served in the United States Army.  He was a self-employed, hard worker until his health declined. Mr. Worthy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Wayne L. Worthy and Marcus P. Worthy; one sister Earlanda LuSylvia Walker. Remaining to carry on his legacy are his devoted family including his loving wife Cynthia Lindsay Worthy; His Children Cherreik Lindsay, Shannon Fields, Michael Stokes, Leah Branson; Six Sisters Helen Porter, Barbara Worthy, Deborah King, Alice Worthy, Nikki (Robert) Young, Delba (Charles) Hanes; Two Brothers Letmon (Nancy) Williams and Ronald (Ruth) Worthy; One sister in law, Paulette Worthy; Ten Grandchildren: Timothy III, Xavier, Immanuel, Makiyah, Na’Kelia, Malachi, Jordyn, Raelyn, Dae’Shaun, and Dae’Von; One Great Granddaughter, Xuri and a Host of Devoted Nieces, Nephews, and Friends.
